“There’s shortage of players to convert goals in Nepali political football. Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal doesn’t leave the goalpost, Maoist Chairman Prachanda only runs around the field; he can’t score a goal and doesn’t pass the ball to others to convert. Jhalanath Khanal, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Paudel are only in the reserve. The referee doesn’t blow the whistle when there’s a foul.”

(TV newsreader and former woman soccer player Ram Singh, Annapurna Post, 27 June)
