Supreme full court to hear legality of presidential action

Kathmandu, 13 April: A full bench of the supreme court will now decide the legality of ceremonial President Dr Ram Baran Yadav’s decision to retain Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal who was sacked 11 months ago by a Maoist-led government of Chairman Prachanda.
The decision challenged by two advocates was referred to the full bench after opinions of two judges clashed at a hearing Tuesday.

Further details of PM, Sood meeting

Kathmandu, 13 April: Indian embassy statement Tuesday said it was ‘dissatisfied’ with the decision of the government to cancel a contract with an Indian government security press to print machine readable passports (MRPs) for Nepal.
The embassy said ‘its attention; had been drawn to the government decisions.
The statement was issued following a meeting between Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Ambassador Rakesh Sood.
