EU ambassadors congratulate Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal

Kathmandu, 26 May : European Union Heads of Mission (Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, United Kingdom and European Commission) and the representative of The Netherlands in Kathmandu called on Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Tuesday to offer their congratulations on his inauguration, an EU statement said.

”Offering their support in tackling the challenging issues facing the new government, they urged the Prime Minister to focus on collaborating with all the political parties to find a way forward.

“The EU Heads of the Mission highlighted the importance of working in parallel on three key areas of activity: completing the peace process; drafting a new constitution that meets the aspirations of the people of Nepal; and delivering on the economic and development needs of all Nepalis.
“ They also shared the Prime Minister's concern to improve law and order in Nepal. The EU Representatives assured the Prime Minister that they would continue to call on all sides in Nepal to work in a spirit of compromise and co-operation to deliver substantive political and economic progress.”
Norway, the only foreign country supporting Maoists was absent.
Outgoing Prime Minister Prachanda visited Norway before his ouster.
Finland,which he also visited .didn’t open support to Maoist Prime Minister Prachanda.
