Appointed Nepali ambassador to Norway complains he was left out of PM’s team

Kathmandu, 15 Jan: After he wasn’t included in PM Prachanda’s team, Ambassador –designate to Norway Murari Raj Sharma has raised strong objection, Kantipur said.
Sharma said he had planned to present credentials to the Norwegian king Thursday 15 January.
Sharma objected in a letter to the prime minister and protested its leak.

(Note: The ambassador based in London and appointed by the Girija government was unhappy with him amid reports he had been recalled by the Prachanda government. Sharma, who was a UN employee, protested against the royal regime even as an international civil servant against accepted norms and practices.)

Further background on Prachanda visit of Scandinavian countries (URGENT NEWS)

Kathmandu, 15 Jan: PM Prachanda’s proposal to visit Denmark, another Scandinavian country, didn’t materialize.
He also proposed to visit Belgium
where Maoists have the largest population after India.
Belgium and Scandinavian countries have been helping Maoists.
A secret army report leaked Wednesday said Norway and top Unofficial Samuel Tamrat were conduits between Maoists, Peru’s Shining Path and other international revolutionary communists.
The visit comes amid mounting daily protests against the murder of woman radio journalist Uma Singh who father and brother were abducted and probably killed by Maoists.
Finland embassy in Kathmandu, on behalf of EU ambassadors protested Singh’s killing.
Protesting journalists submitted memorandums to the prime minister and President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Thursday.
PM Prachanda said Singh’s murder is very serious and can’t be compared with past killings and assured action against culprits.
The president also said he was concerned.
PM also told journalists his Europe visit was suspended because of the murder of journalist Singh and other internal developments.
The Europe visit would have been Prachanda’s third foreign tour in five months.
He has visited China, India and New York to address a UN general assembly after assuming office.

Nagarjung forest incorporated in Shivapuri national park

Kathmandu, 15 Jan: Government Sunday incorporated Nagarjung forest in the adjoining Shibapuri National Park, Annapurna Post reports.
Former King Gyanendra lives in a bungalow in the forest above Balaju.
